Dorchester Publishing, home of Leisure Books and Love Spell, is an independent publisher specializing in mass-market paperback fiction for romance, horror, Westerns and thrillers. The company also distributes pulp mysteries of the Hard Case Crime line and the Family Doctor series.

Founded in 1971, Dorchester prides itself on being the oldest independent mass-market publisher in the U.S. Its efficient size affords the company the freedom and flexibility to adjust quickly to market changes, as well as take a chance on projects that don’t necessarily fit into neat categories within the various genres. For more than thirty-five years, its dedicated staff has worked tirelessly to discover and promote new talent.

Dorchester is the only mass-market house with dedicated lines for Westerns (four books a month) and horror (two books a month).  The romance line (six to eight books a month) has built such stars as Christine Feehan, Jayne Ann Krentz, Katie MacAlister, Lynsay Sands and numerous others. Dorchester books have won awards for every category in which they’re eligible and have been featured in The New York Times, Newsweek, USA Today, Redbook, Time, CNN, The Los Angeles Times and many more.

Titles are available wherever books are sold—chains such as Barnes & Noble, Borders, Waldenbooks, and BooksAMillion; independents such as Powell’s; retailers such Wal-Mart, Target, and Kmart; online outlets such as Amazon; as well as drug stores, grocery stores, airports, and libraries.
