Who are The Immortals?

Five warriors, created at the dawn of time
by the goddesses to help humanity.
The ancient warriors have been
nearly forgotten,
though magic lives on
--in vampires, werewolves,
the Celtic Sidhe, and other beings.
Now they must be summoned to counteract
the evil designs of Tain,
an Immortal gone rogue.
The trouble is, the Immortals
are not very interested
in the fate of the world any more,
and four determined witches
must convince them
that their help is sorely needed.

Adrian

The oldest Immortal
Born: 2500 BC, Ancient Egypt
Goddess: Isis
Weapon: Sword that morphs into a cobra
Special skill: Ability to calm
(tranquilize) with his mind
Dark-haired and dark-eyed, Adrian is the oldest of the Immortals, made even more powerful by the cobra-shaped silver armlet he wears, an armlet that transforms on command both into Ferrin, a real cobra, and into a deadly sword. A warrior’s face, with a warrior’s body to match, he is what demons and creatures of evil vampires fear most—and what a woman’s fantasy is made of. Protective to a fault, he is forever haunted by the disappearance of his youngest brother, Tain, centuries before. Having failed to find Tain and spare him the hellish torture he endured has riddled him with guilt, as well as created in him an even more deadly drive to kill all creatures of death magic.

Darius

Born: 1500 BC
Goddess: Sekhmet (Fire-breathing "Eye of Re")
Weapons: Body tattoos
that become weapons
Special skill: Ability to make 2D objects
become 3D
Darius could be mistaken for a larger and sexier version of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. With steel grey eyes, long, dark hair, and an upper torso and arms covered in tattoos, Darius is every inch the sexy and untouchable warrior. He is driven by a strong sense of duty and responsibility to protect others. The woman who holds his heart must be of great strength and deep passion.

Kalen

Born: 968 BC
Goddess: Uni (Mother goddess of the Etruscans, later known as Juno)
Weapon: Crystal-tipped spear
Special skill: Ability to apparate over distances
Created by the Etruscan Goddess-Mother Uni as a guardian to her fledgling people, dark-haired, dark-eyed Kalen spent his first decades in the human world fighting zombie hordes loyal to the demoness Culsu. Over the centuries, he remained loyal to his people, until, to his great guilt and regret, the last of the Etruscans’ descendants became extinct in the Middle Ages—a calamity caused by the betrayal of someone he loved dearly. Now, in the twenty-first century, far removed from his first duty, Kalen feels like a fish out of water. He abhors technology, and most often finds himself looking backward, to a time when men guarded their honor and protected their women. He despairs of ever finding true love in a modern world.

Hunter

Born: 325 BC (Time of Alexander the Great)
Goddess: Kali (Goddess of creation and destruction)
Weapon: Sword that bursts into flame
Special skill: Affinity with animals
With tawny-brown hair, emerald-green eyes, and a deep voice that hints of sultry nights and unimaginable pleasure, Hunter exudes seduction. Hunter is just as eager to laugh and seduce a beautiful woman as he is eager to fight in battle. But like his brothers, Hunter has experienced centuries’ worth of pain, having once fallen in love with a human woman, only to lose both her and their children to a demon attack. Though the experience has lent a darkness to his humor, he loves with as much ferocious intensity as he shows in the heat of a deadly battle.

Tain

Born: AD 72 in Roman Britain
Goddess: Cerridwen
Weapon: Roman Bronze Short Swords
Special Skill: Healing
With his red hair and blue eyes, Tain was a force to be reckoned with both in the bedroom and on the battlefield. A fierce warrior with an abundance of charm, Tain was a certified ladies man. But neither his deadly skill nor his charm was enough to prevent his capture and torture by an ancient demon. Enslaved for 700 years, Tain was forced to betray his own brothers, his healing nature and magic corrupted by a demon that sought to use him in their battle against the Immortals. Though now free of the demon’s control, he is still a slave to his own nightmares. Haunted by the pain and destruction he unwillingly caused, he seeks redemption for his past. A healer by nature, his compassion for those in need is as strong as his need to redeem himself. Tain is a warrior in need of saving and a healer in need of healing, because his compassionate nature is at war with his own darkness.

Manannán mac Lir
aka “Mac”

Born: AD 1295
Background: Son of Lir (Celtic God of the Sea) and Niniane (Sidhe Queen of Annwyn)
Weapon: Elfshot
Special Skill: Illusion and Glamour
Tall, fair, and green-eyed, Mac is forever young, a Sidhe with the look of a twenty-something human male despite having been around for over seven centuries. His potency for seduction is as strong as his magic, a powerful blend of his father’s water magic and his mother’s Sidhe power. His charm and sense of humor, however, is all his own, making him an irresistible draw to women everywhere. A warrior with the heart of an artist, he nurtures a deep love of music. Just as deep is his protective nature to safeguard all Celtic magical creatures—faeries, Selkies, and Sidhe alike—from death magic. Forever young though he may be, he is still a Sidhe in search of human love. After meeting a woman who turns his world upside down, and his heart, inside out, he can’t help but wonder if his endless search has finally come to an end—has he found the woman who can see past the glamour and illusion and into his warrior’s heart?

Nick Blackhawk

Born: AD 1975
Background: Descended from a forgotten branch of Iroquois
Special Skill: Dream walker and chameleon (able to assume the physical form of any living creature larger than a breadbox)
Tall and muscular with dark brown hair and golden brown eyes, Nick is descended from an almost forgotten branch of the Iroquois Indians. Because of his upbringing, he is as at home in the wilderness as he is in the city. A man of strength and dignity, he most values integrity, loyalty and independence.
