Identifying a Killer ... Easier Said Than Done

With the success of my first two Dorchester legal thrillers, JUSTICE SERVED (Finalist for a 2005 Romantic Times Reviewers' Choice Award) and PERSUASIVE EVIDENCE, I accepted the challenge of creating another complex legal plot with three-dimensional characters, page turning suspense, and steamy romance in my latest legal thriller, STATE'S EVIDENCE.

This plot revolves around the murder of a prominent judge and sexual assault of his wife; which takes place around the same time that a young wife is being brutally attacked by a rapist-killer. Two men are arrested and charged with the crimes. DNA evidence suggests the right suspects are in custody and convictions a sure thing.

Open and shut cases, right?

Not exactly. As for the power of DNA fingerprinting in the legal setting, the odds that two people could have the same DNA are 1 in 100 billion, with the exception of identical twins. But what if two men who were not identical twins beat those odds?

This is the nightmarish scenario presented in STATE'S EVIDENCE. It is up to Eagles Landing Assistant District Attorney Beverly Mendoza and Homicide Detective Stone Palmer to figure it out, before more people die. Problem is, they may become victims themselves in the process ...
