FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NEW YORK -- Fans of James Patterson, Tom Clancy and Patricia Cornwell will have reason to celebrate this September. Dorchester Publishing has added a line of one thriller each month to its Leisure Books imprint.
"Some of the most exciting fiction being written today is found in the thriller genre, and I'm delighted that Leisure will be able to bring these terrific books to readers," said Executive Editor Don D'Auria.
The first novel of the new line is Red Angel by Andrew Harper, to be published in September. Click here to read a sample selection.
It's no secret that Harper is actually a pseudonym for bestselling author Douglas Clegg, one of the very few authors to win both a Bram Stoker Award and an International Horror Guild Award in the same year. Clegg's latest hardcover novel, The Hour Before Dark, was once again nominated for both major awards and sold out within two months of its initial release.
With Red Angel, Clegg once again turns to the thriller territory he so successfully explored in Bad Karma, his previous "Andrew Harper" novel. Bad Karma was made into the movie of the same name, and features many of the same characters as Red Angel as psych tech Trey Campbell returns to the Darden State Hospital for Criminal Justice to battle a particularly horrifying serial killer at large and a psychopathic inmate who seems to have inside knowledge of the grisly murders. Fans of Silence of the Lambs won't want to miss it.
In October, first-time author Joel Narlock presents Target Acquired, a fast-paced thriller centered on the theft of one of the U.S.'s most closely guarded weaponsthe Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, which garnered national attention during coverage of the war with Iraq. In a speech to the United Nations, Secretary of State Colin Powell commented that "UAVs...constitute an ideal method for launching a terrorist attack." Narlock's access to recently declassified documents and research with some of the top experts in the field give Target Acquired a frightening authenticity. Click here to read a sample selection.
William Relling, Jr., author of The Criminalist, has been hailed as "a lean, mean writing machine [who's] got the goods!" by Thomas F. Monteleone, author of Eyes of the Virgin. The chase is on this November as Detective Rachel Siegal teams up with a civilian who's part of the Department of Neuropsychiatry to catch a vicious maniac nicknamed the Pied Piper. Relling is well known for his five previous novels in the mystery and horror genres. His writing has also appeared in Omni and Mystery Scene.
Dorchester Publishing Co., Inc., founded in 1971, is one of the oldest independent publishers of mass-market books in North America.
